Image result for SHORTCUT IMAGES

1.A MIXTURE OF 40 LITRES OF MILK AND WATER CONTAINS 10% WATER HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD BE ADDED TO THIS MIXTURE SO THAT IT CONTAINS 20%WATER?
SOL: IN 40LITRES 10%WATER MEANS IT WILL BE 4LITRES SO MILK WILL BE 36 LITRES NOW EVEN THOUGH WATER IS ADDED TO THAT SOLUTION MILK WILL BE CONSTANT SO EQUALIZE THE PERCENTAGE IN THE ADDED MIXTURE WITH THE PREVIOUS MILK CONTENT SO ,
                          80%=36
                          100%=?
SO IT WILL BE 45
SO EXCESSIVE 5 LITRES OF WATER IS ADDED.

2.IF A POPULATION OF A TOWN IS INCREASED BY 10% FIRST YEAR AND DECREASED BY 10% IN 2ND YEAR POPULATION AT THE END OF THE 2ND YEAR WILL BE 99000.FIND THE POPULATION AT THE BEGINNING OF 1ST YEAR?
SOL:
           + 10%         -10%
100%---------110------------99
| *1000                                 |*1000
100000                                99000
 SO INITIAL POPULATION IS 100000
