Consequences of Pakistan’s policy of sponsoring terrorism have spread beyond the region, India told the U.N. General Assembly, responding to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s broadside against New Delhi on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. India mounted a counter-attack hours after Mr. Sharif’s speech at the General Assembly, connecting Pakistan’s record of nuclear proliferation to its support of terrorism and the dangers it posed to global security.

Ted Cruz endorses Donald Trump

Just days ahead of the crucial first presidential debate, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has scored a major endorsement after Senator Ted Cruz said he would vote for his former rival.Mr. Cruz on Friday said he would vote for Trump in the November general elections.After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on election day, I will vote for Republican nominee, Donald Trump. I’ve made this decision for two reasons. First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee. And I intend to keep my word, Mr. Cruz wrote in a Facebook post.

Jadeja, Ashwin spin out Kiwis

Indian spinners claimed three wickets in a space of 29 balls to put the visitors on the back-foot.
The spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin exploited the turning track at Green Park to its fullest as the team bundled out New Zealand for 262. India took firm control of the first Test by extending their overall lead to 215 on Saturday.Jadeja (5/73) dismissed three batsmen in one over for a five-wicket haul while R. Ashwin (4/93) grabbed four wickets.At stumps, India were 159/1 in their second innings which gave them an overall lead of 215. India lost K.L. Rahul (38) before Murali Vijay (64) and Cheteshwar Pujara (50) scored briskly to put the hosts in command.New Zealand started the day at a strong 152 for one but lost four wickets in the morning session. Their last five batsmen were dismissed for just 24 runs in the second session as Indian spinners ruled the roost.
